They called me today and I almost fell for the bot. I really thought I was speaking to a real person. They got through the pitch and I said I would look it up and get back to them so they went into, we will send you something mode. I still said no and then the line just went dead. They didn't hang up, just nobody was speaking. Maybe the computer got hung up or something but thats when I knew it was a recording.
I received a call from them and the same thing as listed above. Just stated they were from Breast Cancer Foundation for Corporations for Characters or something like that and then said, "I'll just call back later." and hung up once they realized they reached my voicemail. I would not trust this at all and I have no love for any one that uses any non-profit name to make a profit for themselves. That is especially true when it comes to Veterans or anyone struggling for their lives battling cancer. They need to be shut down and ashamed of themselves. Our government should oversee things like this to ensure the money goes where it is supposed to and much more than 50% of it.
Please do your research on Susan Komen. Their rate for admin is quite high, around 20 cents on the dollar) and they do not reveal where their money goes. It is believed that they conribute to many liberal causes (read political) and no one really knows if they still fund Planned Parenthood because they do not publish any information. If you want you contribution to fund cancer research give it directly to organizations actually doing the research. Many large city hospitals and major universities would be excellent choices not Susan Komen unless you want your money to fund abortion and other liberal causes.
Any company that supports cancer research and detection SHOULD be giving money to Planned Parenthood. That's a HUGE part of what they do.
if you're dumb enough to think that Planned Parenthood ONLY does abortions (which, honestly is less than 3% of their overall services rendered) then I suggest you read up on them. There is plenty of information readily available.
