No reply when answered phone. Could hear talking in the background.
BTW, you can block calls with some Panasonic cordless telephones. I have a model KX-TG6511B base station with a model KX-TGA652 handset. It will block up to 30 numbers plus any call without a number. Easy to set up and works great. If you have a landline phone, you get one ring then blessed silence. You can find info here: http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/KX-TG6511B?t=manuals&support#tabs
Same as the above from "Eric in ICT" (Well done, btw, Mr. Eric).
Woman with a thick India sub con accent - but with what I must say was impeccable English - (likely Bangalore or Mumbai area) claiming that she was calling from "Windows support" and that "error msg's had been detected from my computer."
I played along for a couple of minutes, but realized I hadn't finished cleaning up from dinner and had to get to it, so when I started asking "How do you know what's going on with my computer - are you from the NSA?" and "What kind of scam are you running?" she hung up.
Pulled the plug too soon, hardly got my entertainment's worth.
Knew it was a scam the second it showed up on my caller ID: Either that or the usual "It's that time of year" politico robocall (what's the diff?). I often pick up just for the sheer amusement value. Hilarious how they're spoofing Ohio area codes. Wonder who's cell phone # they stole - John Boehner's perhaps? (No, that would be Jim McDermott.)
Even funnier, I live in Seattle, you think they would have enough sense than to try to pull a "Windows" scam here (MSFT already does a good enough job at that).
Hey, morons, here's a little hint: Nex time, don't dial 206 or 425 area codes.
Same as the others. " We're detecting error messages from your computer" in a heavily accented voice- male. I didn't feel like messing around with him though, and threatened to call the police on him. A bunch of low toned whispered voices on the other end came into clarity, and then they hung up on me.
