BTW, you can block calls with some Panasonic cordless telephones. I have a model KX-TG6511B base station with a model KX-TGA652 handset. It will block up to 30 numbers plus any call without a number. Thick Indian accent..."I am calling from windows...your computer is having problem". I replied no, your not. He said again "I am calling from windows" I again said no, your not...your calling from a boiler room. He hung up...go figure.
Last time I got the call from "windows" I wasted over an hour of his time, made him call me back 3 times by hanging up in the middle of a sentence or setting the phone down. In the end I told him I knew he was a scammer and he got so pissed he started cussing me out in a mix of Hindu and english. I started laughing and said imagine that, your pissed off at me and your the thief!
East Indian woman who claimed to be with Microsoft. This is the third type of call stating we have problems with windows on our computer. This is obviously fraudulent and I told her to get off my phone! Have reported this before to Microsoft, but obviously they have not been able to prevent these crooks as of yet.
I received a call from this number saying that they need to fix my computer, because a bunch of horrible stuff is being downloaded and if we didn't go turn on our computer for him to fix it, that it would crash. When we asked who was calling he was very rude and stated that he already said who he was.
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
Says OHIO on caller ID. I answered, the person the other line said something, I couldn't understand them. I said "I'm sorry?" and they hung up. Pfft. After reading other comments, this must have been the same people who called like 15 minutes earlier telling me something was wrong with windows. Figured it was a phoney call. Stupid people.
What I what to know is, how do they get our names?
