An indian man has been calling me..usually from a "0000000..." number. then telling me to call him back on two seperate numbers. The 1st voicemail he said it was urgent and very time sensitive and that by tomorrow morning he would have cops show up at my work or home to get me. he told me i was being charged with fraud and i owe money under a payday loan cashnet usa. I dont know what he is talking about. he also stated my SSN number to me as well as my date of birth!!! the 2nd voicemail he told me that if i didnt call back or do anything then "i guess the only thing ill have to do..is...get..you" i feel personally harrassed and quite frightened now. I ended up filing a police report and showing them the creepy voicemails, I now have detectives looking into this more. does anyone else have similiar stories.... i now have to cancel all bank accounts, credit cards and cancel or flag my SSN.! this is stressing me out big time! he also told me in the 1st VM that he was Officer Willam then the 2nd he said he was Officer S something. So he gave out two false names and it was def the same person calling every time. if he calls me again i am telling him to [***] off!
this person called me about 20 minutes ago and like the rest of the stories, wanted to verify information. he had my name, address, etc. I did verify my birthday but then he asked for information to wire money to. I told him no. He then asked for a credit card number and they could perform the transaction this way. After finally telling him the only way i would receive money is if they mailed me a debit card with information on it, he hung up and said he was going to "disclose."
I got a call today at 10:00 am PST. same drill of a grant for me from the government. I told the person to write down my bank account so he can deposit it there and asked him if he also wants my social security number and CC information. He understood the hint and hung up. Telling by his voice he was a male, about 40 or 50 years old. there was tons of noise in his background as if he was talking from a busy airport terminal or a room full of scammers like him.
