People!People! Whenever you get an unwanted call. Just do what I do. Repeat several times. NO ENGLISH! NO ENGISH!
If they ask you what language? Just make up a language. Have fun.
I know it looks like I stay at this spot all the time. Not so. After my comments and then rejoicing because Someone had finally persevered and gotten "them" reported and stopped by April 19, I go upstairs to celebrate. I get a soda, the phone rings and it is 1-800-555-1212! For those who are older, we remember that as the National Telephone Information number. So, puzzled, I answer it. Guess What?? It is a recording from Adam about my credit card rates and the old push 1 or 2. I Can Not Believe this is happening. Unlike yourselves I had never answered or heard the recording. It is almost surreal. So Be Aware. "They" have another number. Do Not Answer!
They call all the time. Either "your auto warranty is expiring" or "lower your credit card rate." Telling them to stop calling does nothing. As others of you have reported, I think it only encourages them. The number is definitely a spoofed number because when you dial it, you get a recording that says the number has been disconnected. So, how are some of you definitely equating it with a specific company? Also, has anyone taken the call through to a step where you get info about them? I'm gonna try that the next time they call. I have an expired Visa rebate card from Staples that I can use for the card number. For my name and telephone number, I plan on using that of one of my local state congressmen. I figure that maybe if his staff gets hassled, they will do something about it. What do think about that?
I get calls from this number every other day. I connected with an operator and asked her to remove my number, we are on the National NO CALL LIST - she hung up! This is very annoying and I would like them to stop calling.
The Do Not Call list does not work with this caller because it is a scam to get your credit information. Play along with them by pressing "1" and you will find that they ask for your credit card numbers, and even social security number. Talk to your state Attorney General's office to see if they can help. Eventually, these folks will be doing some time.
