Solicitation call wanting money to upgrade police training. I was asked if security threats are worse today then in years past. I answered not necessarily. She told me (without missing a beat) that with my donation, police training could be improved.
Told her I was uninterested and she launched into a second subject about child abductions and how a donation there would be helpful. I asked about the amber alert system already in place but she just kept on talking.
I put the line and hold and let her roll on. She clearly wasn't listening to a word I said anyway.
Caller was an older-sounding man who wouldn't tell me what his call concerned. He went silent, so I hung up. Or maybe he hung up. It's always good when you make the scammers shut up. I love it when they don't know what to say. Scrolling through the calls for this number, though, I can see what he was up to. Trolling for someone stupid enough to give him money. Must be a good business, if you have a shriveled up heart.
I received a phone call this morning (Sunday) 8:29 AM. Today it's 16 degrees out and the roads have icy conditions and my caller ID says MD Cop. These guys are jerks, what the first thing that go thru mine
woman wanted to know if i was the lady of the house. i asked who she was and she said she was calling about a community matter. i asked what matter to which she replied that she couldnt tell me until i confirmed that i was the lady of the house. i woulndt confirm altho there is a blizzard outside and i did confirm that i am a woman and am in the house. this conversation went repaetedly around in circles. if it wasnt annoying it would be funny
These calls started this week- at least twice a day. As a previous poster mentioned, we are in the middle of the worst winter storm in history so I thought it may be regarding a loved one. Only static on the other line which made the worry worse. Thank goodness for this website and that my phone has a call block feature!!
