Solicitation call wanting money to upgrade police training. I was asked if security threats are worse today then in years past. I answered not necessarily. She told me (without missing a beat) that with my donation, police training could be improved.
Told her I was uninterested and she launched into a second subject about child abductions and how a donation there would be helpful. I asked about the amber alert system already in place but she just kept on talking.
I put the line and hold and let her roll on. She clearly wasn't listening to a word I said anyway.
This is a scam. Do not talk to these people. Law enforcement do not solicit the public for donations through "cold calls" or hire a third party to do so. If they continue to phone you after you have asked them to stop, make sure you write down and keep physical records of date and times that they call. Report them to the FCC and contact your service provider with this information for further assistance.
Same symptoms here. Been happening for the last few weeks. It seems sometimes several times a day. Twice today already. Once he waited for the answering machine and even shouted my wife's name 2 times. I think it's her name registered with the phone company, which is probably why he shouted her name instead of mine. What the heck though, how rude is that? Both times today he called and then hung up after 10-15 seconds of silence.
Not sure what to do next actually. Luckily my brother is an actual cop. Maybe I'll turn it over to him :-)
4432972105 is another number this coward uses to harass people. Not only this number the coward uses several other numbers with different area codes to do his dirty work.
I receive a call from 240-560-2625 every single day. I have VOIP service so I just placed that number on my call rejection list and now they can't bother me. Easy peasy.
