This caller never leaves a message. It's just a nuisance. But I do feel empathy for the 609 guy, who gets the calls back from people he didn't call. This is crazy.
Have received several calls from this unknown number. I have not pick up, until today and a man asked
to speak to David, (my husband david passed away almost four years ago.) I really didn't give him a chance
to say much else and hung up. He called right back. No message.
Reported this caller from Bethesda, MD, phone number of 240-507-1192 which showed on my ID caller. This person has called our home several times leaving no messages and I just happened to be home to answer the call recently (6-9-10). Asked the woman with very heavy accent several times for her name. She finally said her name was Amy Smith. She called my husband lute-her and knew my first name also. That is not how you pronounce my husband's name at all. I went to the police station to file a report and was advised to block this number by dialing "Star" 77 and then when it asks for adding a number to my numbers list to dial in the 240-507-1192 which blocks her within 31 days. Also, was told to register my phone on the "Do Not Call" list by dialing 1-888-382-1222. In addition I was told to call the Attorney Gener's Office in my state and to log/report with them in the Consumer Protection Office. I was also told that since this person was told not to call us anymore and has continued to ignore our request/order not to call that I can file a complaint report with our Attorney General's Office and they will fine them. All you have to do is type www.(your state's full name)attorneygeneral.gov and a form will pop up for you to complete. If enough people do this, they will obviously run out of money to pay the fines and eventually end up in prison. LET'S ALL GET ON THE BAND WAGON TOGETHER TO STOP THIS PERSON FROM CALLING EVER AGAIN!!!! In addition, I was advised to call my phone carrier to see whether or not they are selling my name and phone number to anyone. I did so and was advised that they have not and will not sell my name and phone number to anyone. I felt compelled to share this info with all of you that have written a complaint about this phone number and the people from it calling but yet not doing anything to stop the calls. This is valid information. I suggest you follow this advice that was given to me by our local police agency and State Attorney General's Office. I knew this could be done since I have worked in law enforcement for 20 years. Check this out with your local law enforcement agency such as police office, sheriff's office, state police, and state attorney general's office. You will find that this advice is, in fact, valid information and quite useful. Good luck to all of you! In closing, this person insisted that my husband filled out a form stating he had diabetes. I told the caller that medical information was strictly confidential and asked where she got this information by who and who for was this so-called "form" completed. I refused to answer any questions so she finally got mad and slammed the phone down. NEVER answer questions by any caller you do not know. Since this caller was calling from a cell phone (police and I both checked this out and did find it was a cell phone and it was one that you can't call (rings busy), I could not make a determination whether they were actually a block away or actually calling from the State they were in. Thus the reason I immediately went to the police. You never know if this is a potential burglar or robber as the cell phone will still show the State from where it was issused even if they are standing on your front porch. Just a "heads-up" to all of you!
