We have great credit, thankfully, but somehow my cell number became the target for collecting on a student loan. There were tons of calls (I never answered thanks to these websites) and then peace until today this number showed up. So not sure how my number got on their lists, I haven't had a student loan since 1983, and it was paid up long ago. Bless you all for reporting on these numbers.
I have been getting calls from this # saying that I owe them for their client Arrow Financial regarding a cc account. I keep telling them to validate this information. Today they called from the 267-407-0100 # at 3:51pm and I told them the same thing....that I wanted validation. This man that couldn't even speak english kept asking how I was going to take care of this matter. I kept telling him I needed validation. He finally said that they sent me something on July 6th, which I never received. He finally said he would make a notation of me wanting them to validate it. Then he hung up on me. Then at 3:54, I received a call from 866-823-1670 from someone claiming to be the other mans supervisor...but he sounded just like the first caller. Needless to say, I said that I want validation of this supposed debt. Then I hung up on them...Beware of these people...they have called before using another supposed law firm name.
Received 3 calls in 5 days on my cell from this #. Nobody spoke to me when I asked what was going on. Supplemental Philadelphia area code. Called back and VM referred to Payton/Peyton Crowell & Associates. After prompt request from VM, line went dead. They haven't called since...
Today I received a phone call from "Tate" at the above-referenced phone number. I'd never had a call from Tate before. Any unpaid debt which I had was incurred many, many years ago. In searching on line for info re statutes of limitations, I found the following:
"In general terms, the statute of limitations on written contracts - such as mortgages, credit cards and car loans - is six years from the last payment or contract breach. Fraud claims such as embezzlement or theft fall under the six-year statute of limitations.
The medical malpractice statute of limitations is two years."
