This number has been placed on my blocked numbers list so you might as well stop calling. I don't know who Burke is and if you can't leave a message you must be a crook.
called me today Sat 2/21/15 at 2:00 pm..caller id said BURKE.....hahahahah.....I didn't answer they didn't lv msg...wonder why these idiots don't just get a real job....
I answered the phone this evening "Jackson County Sheriff, Sgt. Jamison, How may I help you?" Slight hesitation, then they hung up. Didn't utter a word. Haven't called back. Let's see if that works.
Same deal, unknown phone number, message. I don't answer unknown numbers any more, if they're legit, they'll leave a legit voicemail.
Folks,DNC doesn't stop scammers - ever. And surveys are just a way of luring you into the conversation, so that they can either extract enough info to steal your identity (trust me, it's easy, without even giving them what you might think is critical information... if it's not someone you know or can verify, keep your mouth SHUT and answer nothing), or to work you into a buying position.
A simple solution if you own a cell phone and it is the number that they keep calling... Usually, you have a limited number of callers that you can block. So... Create a contact ID called "Ignore" - set it to either 1) a ringtone created of nothing but a second of silence [I made one I call "The Sound Of Silence" out of remembrance of Simon & Garfunkel], or 2) "do not ring" if your phone has that setting, and also set "do not vibrate" - then add all these repetitive telemarketer scum phone numbers to that one contact. Your phone may display the incoming number on the screen, but it will never disturb you again. iPhone/IOS users note: every time you add another number to this contact, be sure to reset the ringtone, because IOS resets it to default when you do. I've written Apple with the problem, hopefully, they'll leave my settings alone in the next IOS update, but not holding my breath. I have HUNDREDS of these numbers in that one contact, and keep adding new ones all the time, but once added, they never disturb me again.
