Interesting. At 5:55 pm "Michael XXX" just called us from 269-768-2191 and asked for Carol Phillips. This is the second call today. When I asked him what company he was calling from, though, he said it was Champion Mortgage. Are they affiliated with National Star Mortgage or are these people just lying all over the place?
"CF" you were close, but the company is actually called NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE LLC. Formerly known as CENTEX Home Equity Company LLC, Nationstar also operates as CHAMPION Mortgage.
It is a predatory lending company that was purchased by the Fortress Investment Group in 2006. Anthony (Tony) H. Barone is Nationstar's president and CEO. Nationstar began to implode in Sep 2007 and, as of today, it has less than 200 employees (out of it's previous 2000) and nearly all of it's 75 branch offices around the country have closed.
Both Nationstar and Champion, a division of the company, operate out of the same call center in Lewisville, Tx:
Nationstar Mortgage LLC and
Nationstar Mortgage dba Champion Mortgage
350 Highland Drive
Lewisville TX 75067
(469) 549-2000
