He had called my husbands work place saying his name was sam smith also.. but, wouldn't leave no details.. After reading this and these comments my husband said he was not returning his phone call.. We have also recieved phone calls from other places saying about payday loans that we know we did not do and we have the bank statements to prove it.. but, the guy said that if we didn't pay so amounts of money he would have the sheriff here with a warrant.. Well, in our area in order for that to happen he has to go through our local magistrates office and they have to send out paperwork certified mail first to the complaints being made. If no response that is when they send out the Sheriff and police officer.. Some ppl are just plain stupid and morons and they think if they threaten with arrest we aren't gonna check into it first to find out if it is legit expecially when we know there was no payday loans taken out and put electronically into our account.. We aren't that stupid to give out our account information.. stupid ppl..
Claimed they were the DEA and that I was going to be arrested if I did not have my lawyer contact them by 3pm, yet left no name or phone number. These guys are just [***] with you. Not really the DEA! Surprise surprise.
I just received a call from a guy that spoke very broken English. He further stated that he had warrants for for criminal activities and if I didnt call, he would have authorities execute the warrants. He also said his name was Sam Smith. Funny thing is, I am a Cop. When I called back and idnetified myself, he hung up on me. Be careful - it is a scam.
