Just received a call from 289-512-0307. Unfortunately I wasn't home. It was so garbled at the beginning I only got "CRA Revenue Canada", then he continued on with the spiel and yes it was a heavy accent. Unbelievable these idiots are so bold. It only bothered me because it upset my 74 year old mom. I told her not to worry, it was just another con by useless individuals with nothing to contribute to society. I never respond the first time to anything anyway. Apparently these [***] get belligerent too. If someone is contacting my home and interrupting whatever I'm doing, they better be polite!! .
I just received the same message and yes he sounds believable so I admit I panicked but after I google this number and saw all your posts relief washed over me and I am now extremely ticked off these people need to be stopped
A man with a hint of an East Indian accent called and left a message about a case that is open on me. I was not home so I returned the call after 17:00hrs to see what company or organization would answer. Just a voice mail by this man. I left a message for him to call me back the next day. I then googled the number and found myself here. Glad I did do what I did. If he calls back tomorrow, then let the games begin.
Got the same phone message (sounded like he was calling from his call, there was so much noise). Had to listen to the message three times to understand what he was saying (heavy accent). My initial reaction was mild panic then annoyance then I realized this was a scam. Why can't they put this much energy into legitimate work?!
A man named Robert Smith called and wanted to speak to my husband. Said he was from the CRA and it was very important that he call back. He had a very strong accent and was difficult to understand. When I asked what it was about, he said an on going criminal investigation. We didn't call back!
