I got a voice recording message from this number claiming that I need to call back to discuss my "case" or I will be reported to local authorities. At least they coulda had a real person saying all that which makes me think its some kind of ransom prank
Claims to be IRS investigation unit, Threatens with an arrest warrant, says the local police will arrest you within 24 hours, IRS will never do this, Thick Indian accent can barely understand them
I got this call twice today, called back to hear them tell me I have an IRS miscalculation and that I have an arrest warrant unless I pay them something...I figured something was fishy because both men I talked to had the exact same voice, thick Indian accent and did not even understand me. I asked for someone who I could understand and they sent me to another thick accented Indian man. When I told them there's no way possible I could owe over $2700 in taxes because the IRS takes my taxes every year for my student loan payment he said...let me transfer you to my boss. And also I said, how do I know this is even real? He says, log onto www.irs.gov to check. When I said all I could pay was $25 the phone call ended and I tried calling back twice, didn't go through. Wondering if they pulled the plug on that burn number.
This has happened to my sister before and we contacted the IRS ourselves and reported the number. Now they're calling me. I don't fall for this cause I know I have never done anything wrong.
I'm still in high school and I'm homeschooled at that and they're calling me saying that there are 4 allegations pressed to my name right now and that I need to contact them so we can talk about my case. It's a machine talking though. I'm not buying it
