I got a voice recording message from this number claiming that I need to call back to discuss my "case" or I will be reported to local authorities. At least they coulda had a real person saying all that which makes me think its some kind of ransom prank
"From the headquarters which will get expired in next 24 working hours and once it get expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are 4 serious allegation pressed on your name at this moment. We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you the number to reach us is 300 one 245420. I repeat 300 one 245420. Thank you."
Same there here. Didn't answer the first time they called and let it go to voice mail. Message with very bad grammar tells me that there are miscalculations and that if I don't clear this up within 24 hours there will be an arrest warrant. Same bs as everyone else is reporting.
Person who answers has a very thick Indian and answers "this is the IRS".
I also received a message on my cell - it was a recording. I called back and was on hold for a bit and then a guy with a thick Indian accent asked my number and my full name and my age. I told him I wouldn't tell him anything until I knew what it was about. He said, "don't tell me lie" and I hung up and blocked the call. Obviously a scam.
Been getting calls from Maryland, California, Texas, D.C., Alabama, Chicago, Pennsylvania, New York for the last week, person has same accent and voice. Googled and it's some kind of scam. They just left a threatening message, first part was cut off. Probably said it's the IRS, which will NEVER contact by phone. I keep blocking each phone number that is not familiar. Also downloaded app that blocks these scammers.
