I got the same call you did kathi!called the police & they said a lot of people have been getting this call & it is a scam! don't call it back! it sounded like a recording!
We received the same call yesterday. My wife said they left a message. The message left what the others above posted before. Appearing before a magistrate, this was their second attempt at reaching us and it was our last chance. They gave us a number to call. This is one of the few calls where a message was left. Usually they just hang up when the answering machine picks up. We are getting so tired of getting these robo calls. We are getting 4-5 a day.
received message on answering machine about need to appear before magistrate and it was the last chance. I called them back they wanted to speak to my husband . I told them he wasn't home . I asked who was calling and what it was about with the repeat of above. When I pressed for more information they hung up
Beware!! they also called our home. When I returned the call the message said they claimed to be the IRS. I called their bluff... IRS nor any federal agency will call your home & threatened you.
The identical recorded message was left on our home's answering machine with the same threats, etc. I have no intention of returning the calls and erased it.
Received same message on answering machine from a Middle Eastern/Indian accented man using the "Queen's English". When I called back, the same man asked me for name and number of my lawyer. When I told them I wanted more info, they asked me to verify address without providing me with any information. I told them I was skeptical and worried they might be trying to steal my identity. They told me they would have the DA office follow up with me and to "mind my tone".
