caller id shows RECEIVABLESPERF -- they call several times a day!!! We would answer the call by the 2nd or 3rd ring and a dial tone would be humming in our ears. Finally, I was able to retrieve the call by the 1st ring and sat in silence for approx. 5 minutes. Finally, a lady ASSUMES I am the female that she is trying to contact, which happens to be my husband's ex-spouse. I replied that person does not reside in this household, she quickly hung up and we have not heard from the company again. With all this being said, I assume that it is a 3rd party debt collection agency.
Angela has been enlightened. Yes it is a collection agency! And while it is tempting to get back an your current spouses EX SPOUSE, don't do it.
Mis-direct all creditors, to protect your current spounse, which equals your current money and life style.
My favorite is to say, we just got this phone number a week ago, a month ago, yesterday whatever time line works for you.
Never admit, you EVEN KNOW ex spouse.
Why? Some old debts come back to haunt the other spouse! There are collection agencies called: Scavenger Collection Agencies. They buy old out dated debts on people, and think they can brow beat, threaten, lie to people to get money out of them!
The ex spouse trick works 8 out of 10 times. Its a numbers game, they know if they keep calling and get someone on the hook, they can get money!!!
