It's not Sally Mae, this is a fake scam company who are pretending to be Sally Mae & The University of Phoenix. I am clueless as to how they are acquiring the phone number of people who have loans through these institutions but they get them somehow, One quick way to confirm whether a number is legitimate is to simply go to whitepages.com & search. This number is a mobile device in Newark. I currently have a consumer frauf attorney working against these people.
I don't answer when I don't know who it is. If it's important, they'll leave a message. I lookd up their number, saw it was a scam and called them right back and asked for them to take my # off their list. He asked if they were asking for "so and So" I said IDK because I didn't answer. He said ok it will take 48 hrs tot ake your number off their list. I told him they probably gave a fake number. (which was mine)
