Follow the steps in what you need to know below. I've pulled the info on this company and will post it below as a informational Post. Seems sketchy as I noted out of the 13 complaints filed with the BBB, 10 went unanswered by this company.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.
Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Got this call earlier it's a collection agency that is one of those fly-by-night outfits who are collecting on old debts that are no longer legal to collect on or fradulent debts that never existed(Hard to tell for certain) If you get them calling request a physical address to send correspondence if they ask why, tell them you intend to file a do not call request, if they say anything other than "here's our address" they are fradulent and you need to make a notice to your states unfair debt collection offices usually run by the state attorney general.
Call from 305-417-6255, Marathon FL. Stated my name, case number. His name--James Dorsett, Accu-File. Collecting a pay-day loan debt. I needed to call 1-888-980-8267 within the next 2 hours or I would be served papers. I called, young woman answered, I gave case number, she wanted my name. I asked you this was, without giving my name. A man, John Murdock, got on the phone, stating about the pay-day loan. Told him he had the wrong information and hung up. I called the Florida number back, as was answered by someone not the person who initially called, and could hear young men talking between themselves. I was upset and was concerned until I researched this on Google and found others who had been contacted and an attempt to be scammed......
Just got a call from this number... since I wasn't familiar with it, I didn't answer. I have no idea what they would be calling me about. After reading all the posts here, I'm wondering: has anyone actually received a summons or any further communication from this company or a sheriff's department?
I keep getting calls from this number and I did not pick up, beause if I do not know who it is I do not pick up!! from the sounds of it I am glad I did not pick up!!! Thank You everybody for the heads up on this number!!
This number has been calling almost daily looking for someone named Victor. They say they are from Accu File.? They want to know when someone will home to accept documents from the sheriffs department. I have repeatedly told them there is no Victor here, never was, yet they continue to call. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I get disconnected.
