I just got a call from 305-587-2091. They said that they were calling to lower my interest rate and that they were calling from cardmember services. I asked the guy if he was calling from my visa card services, how come he didnt know what my current interest rate was and he hung up. I called back and got the message that this number is an unattended mailbox and it could not recive any incoming calls>>>SCAMS..
When you tell them they need to add you to their do not call list - they hang up on you. I have been getting the "lower your interest rate" calls on my home phone - biz phone and cell phone for a few months now. I also push the button to be removed from their calls. It always shows up under a new # the next time. All 3 numbers are reg. with DNC.
picked up without checking. someone told me my credit was o.k., but Ishould lower my interest rate by pressing no,8 on the phone to speak about it. since I pay my credit card in full at all times, there could be no interest involved., so I hung up. the i.d.on the phone was lower interest. I am also on the Do no call list, how are these people spending the money they must have been given to set up the business this is not the first time these people have called
There is a reply that states that these people are ignorant. So I have a question: Have you ever known of an intelligent CROOK? They are a real pain in the back side. I just had my THIRD call from these people in about a week. I believe this is a system 1. The recorded voice that begins the crap is a recording. 2. The message is always the same and 3. If you ask any questions of them such as how did you get my number it is HANG-UP TIME! I really think that best and almost the only way is to give them a phony excuss of having to answer the door, etc. Then just quietly lay the phone down and let them waste some of their time. I usually do get a good feeling if the bite on my excuse.
I have recently received a phone call with a local sounding number (local area code and local prefix). I then called the number that was used and it was a local number listed in the phone book but the lady that answered had now idea of how this could happen. These people are trying to be a Madoff but I don't think they are that slick or clever.
