Thanks for the info guys. I normally do NOT answer calls like this. Put them in my address book as SC (DATE) so I know I have had that call before. But recently I had investigated information about a drug that I take that is expensive and I was checking to see if there was a program to get a better discount on it. I know that some drugs do have such programs. This may have been generated from my questions. So I will answer the next time they call.
recently started calling, even on the weekend. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. I don't plan on answering, either... because I'm in MN and doubt that the State of MN would use a Florida agency to help me...especially since I am on straight State Medical Assistance and have no premium and no Part D.
This is a legitimate company that helps people all over the country, so it doesn't matter if you live in Florida, Minnesota or California. However, they only work with members of health plans they contract with, and the only way they would get your contact information is if it came from your health plan. Social Service Coordinators is only trying to help people apply for Medicare Savings Programs.
This is NOT a bogus phone number or company...and you may be missing out on some legitimate financial assistance if you dismiss them as such.
