Received a call from the number. Answered as I was curious even though the ID was unavailable. He called me by name and asked if I was still receiving Charisma Magazine any longer. I told him no and he asked if I was receiving any other Christian magazines other than the Bible. Bible isn't a magazine. I am going to check out the Charisma web site and see what I can find out or let them know they are being used.
This phone call came up as a "Private Caller" on my phone. I have private callers blocked. I had 36 phone calls from a "private caller" over a 2 hour period, one every 2 or 3 minutes! I called the phone company to see if they could see who had been calling me, and told me to dial *69 after the last call and it would tell me the number. It was 305-961-1161. I am assuming that all the calls were from the same number. Talk about harassment!
A man called from this number and said that I told him to call back in January because he called in November and I told him that I was having a hard time and that in November I was to get the discount rate for magazines and that they gave it to me because I refused to pay he would charge me double Called me dummy. Sounded like he was eating while he was talking to me. I told him to send me a bill and that I was not giving him my credit card over the phone and he told me that he had my credit card. However I have been issued a new card since then.
We have received several calls (despite being on "Do not call list") from this number. The first few went unanswered. When they called at nearly 10PM, phone was picked up to tell them that NO call after 9 PM, at which point the caller was very rude when told to NEVER call again. If you check "Magazine House" on the Better Business Bureau website, they are listed with a St. Louis address and a grade of D-, not BBB approved. We have had a previous recent problem with another magazine subscription co. in FL & had to have the bank block them from charging more from bank acct. So, DO NOT give out acct. # to anyone who calls you.
