Received a call from the number.  Answered as I was curious even though the ID was unavailable.  He called me by name and asked if I was still receiving Charisma Magazine any longer.  I told him no and he asked if I was receiving any other Christian magazines other than the Bible.  Bible isn't a magazine.  I am going to check out the Charisma web site and see what I can find out or let them know they are being used.

Fraud Crihfield Management - do not answer the phone. The man is rude and hangs up on you. Gives smart a$$ replies. No REAL company would conduct business this way. My sister and I called the number to cancel magazines that my mother gave her debit card too, his reply..."take her debit card away from her" - No, we said take her off your call list, he repeated his line again about the debit card and hung up on me.  When my sister called him, he hung up on her too. Then he called my mother and told her to call us and tell us to stop harassing him!!!!!  Of course I fussed at her about answering the phone for a number she doesn't know....but this guy needs to be stopped before he gets rich off stealing money from from the elderly.
I called other numbers from the address that pops up for this so-called company in Miami, FL and they never heard of this company in their plaza. FRAUD to get money from elderly.

WARNING --                                   SCAM, SCAM SCAM !!!                                      --WARNING
I received a call from this number 305-961-1161 at 5:41 PM on Thursday 17 April 2014. My caller ID identified it as "Magazine House." This is a scam artist who is trying to obtain credit card information, particularly from elderly household members, over the phone by pretending to renew magazine subscriptions which have long been cancelled. In this case, Discover Magazine. I told the caller if anyone in this household wanted to renew any magazine subscription, they would do so through the US Postal Service, not over the phone, and certainly not by sharing credit card information over the phone, and I told them to stop calling. They called back about a half-hour later(!) at 6:18 PM. This time they insisted on speaking to the person on their calling list, and just kept asking over and over and over again if I was the person on their calling list, no matter what response I gave. There was nothing professional in their demeanor. This time I told them that their number would be blocked, and their number has now been blocked.
I also filed a complaint right away with the Federal Trade Commission, which only takes a few minutes. Since 2007 my number has been registered with the National Do Not Call Registry (which, I'm sorry to say FTC, is a joke).
In my complaint to the FTC, I suggested that the FTC should be able to, at the very least, put an end to this particular source of fraud and harassment by requesting the FCC or other appropriate government agency to disconnect this phone number: 305-961-1161. I really do not expect any results from the FTC, as this number has been in commission since at least September 2012.

Call Type: Scam Artist
