i live in Australia, and "Futron software" called me to tell me to fix my windows 7. instantly realised it was a scam, did not give my home number out and he dodged questions when i asked about how he got my number, and if he worked for microsoft.
I got this exact same email when I applied for a job on craigs list in my area. I was applying for a part time Office assist job at a glass company. What was really crazy is they were asking me for info I didnt want to give them after a read the email from them but then realized every bit of it was on the Resume I had attached to them when applying for the job. so now it worries me they have that info they wanted. I reported it to Craigs list as a scam.
Jan I am concerned about the same thing..the info already contained in my resume. I also replied to an office assistant ad and got nearly the same email reply Kev mentioned above. Same number but his name was Dan Peter. I was worried as soon as I read the reply. Feeling very vulnerable now!
Its the same person posting fake ads just using different names. *craigslist the same as the other stories I thought it was a job post .glad I looked here first
i got the same email and responded the same way, have you found a way to resoive this issue? to night i got a cashiers check with no return address and a letter stating to contact the number or email for further instructions. shady as hell. im going to initially respond and tell this person who ever they are i will not be doing anything for them and the check will be shredded and not to contact me or i will take leagal action. any more suggestions?
