That depends on your carrier, and how they deliver caller ID. I use a VOIP service through Charter Communications, and most of the calls display as "1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx", even within my area code, which is 805.

unwanted call. I returned the call hiding my number. A lady message said the number is not in service. Yesterday I received a call from 626-132-6658, It seems the caller might be Chinese, since the like the number 6658.
Remember, 2 numbers. 626-132-6658 & 310-132-6658 might be from same caller.

The caller, CALIFORNIA ( displayed on our phone as ID. ), called us @ 13:85, , 10.21.2015 for 3rd time. www.ftc.com ( www.donotcall.gov.) suggests us " Don't answer / listen unwanted call on the spot. It woke my wife up while she was taking a nap. My wife returned the call few minutes late, the line is not in service.626-132-6658, it seemed from Chinese Students newly arrived USA doing part time job.

This caller, CALIFORNIA called us today, 10:46, 14:35 & 14:57 ( 3times/day ), 10.22.2015. It called us 6 times so far. When I returned the call hiding our number, a lady message indicated this number is not in service. I blocked its other number 626-132-6658. According http:800notes.com this number has called many people.

The prefix begins with numeral one, and that can't be.
Secondly, this caller is beginning to call my home more and more often, but each time, the caller allows the phone to ring only two times, and then the cowardly bully hangs up.
