This number showed up as HEARST INC The woman asked for me by first name. I said who is speaking? She said a Pblishing Company. And then I said which one? She hung up and I did a reverse phone look up, Thank you Spokeo!
Caller asked for me by name. When she was informed I was on a no Call list she became very rude and hung up. When I tried to call the number left on my caller ID, it was either busy or when a connection was made, it was immediately disconnected.
she called and said she was from publishers clearing house. lol. then she said my bank/credit card company entered me in a contest. i told her my bank doesn't do that. she just hung up.
Got call at 9:34am from woman who said she was with a sweepstakes-something like "Dare to Dream", through Publishers Clearing House. She rattled off a list of prizes including cash, that would be awarded December 31st--said she just wanted to verify my address. (Had it correctly) When I asked how she got my name and info, she said it was through my credit card or bankcard. I don't have credit cards, so I knew that couldn't be true, plus I always get put on lists for no solicitation--figured this was some sort of scam-type deal. When I didn't confront her on it (just let a long silence continue), she asked how the weather was here and when I said fine, she quickly said again, that winners would be notified Dec. 31st. Note, she did NOT mention sending magazines or anything else like I noticed had been done to other callers who have reported getting calls from 310-241-0039.
Rcvd call from unknown number, didn't answer and proceeded to look up online. After seeing all comments, I called from my work phone and line was busy.
Received call saying she was from "Publishers Headquarters" and that my debit card had entered me into a sweepstakes. I started asking questions about location and how I could confirm they were a legitimate business and she hung up.
