This number showed up as HEARST INC The woman asked for me by first name. I said who is speaking? She said a Pblishing Company. And then I said which one? She hung up and I did a reverse phone look up, Thank you Spokeo!
I also recieved a call and was given the same story regarding the magazines, credit cards and publisher's clearing house with none other than the diamond watch! When the man recited a faulty address I started to question his motives. I did not give out any of my information and told him I did not give out personal information over the phone. He then rudely hung up on me. He said he worked for National Service Corporation and gave me the number of 1-800-514-0049, told me his name was "Mike Malone" and his caller ID number was 1-678-401-5655. What is this company?
I got the same call from a different number just a little while ago. It sounded legit so I confirmed my address. she got to the part about magazines free for 48 months, but i didnt here anything about a payment. I said ok and she then hung up. She knew me by name, asked my age, occupation and marital status. then asked about the weather. Has anyone actually gotten the magazine? Were you billed? I dont want to pay for them if they go sent. I really hope this doesnt get my into a lot of trouble.
Said Company was Publishers Headquarters Said she wanted to verify my address info and when I started question her about what type of company they were she hung up on me.
Number on my caller ID is 310-831-3497. When I called back to that number said the number is not a working number. ID said Hearst Inc. When people call like this you start asking them questions and do not ever give out any personal information if you do not know who are talking with. Ask then if you can call them back and have them give you a number to call back on.
Had a call from 310-370-9593 attempting to verify inf. The caller hung up once qustioned. Upon call back I was told it was Publisher's Headquarters. I spoke with a supervisor "Mary Wells" who referred me to the Better Business Bureau then rudly hung up.
I went to the BBB website and found that Publishers Headquarters has an "F" rating.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.
DO NOT GIVE ANY INORMATION TO THESE LOW LIFES!!!
