They are not supposed to be calling at all if your on the federal DNC period. However, it doesn't stop the illegal ones from doing just that. And yes, they are supposed to place you on a internal DNC when asked also. Charity's, some survey's and political calls are exempt from the DNC and debt collectors have their own set of rules under the FDCPA laws.
ROT, don't answer calls you don't recognize.. And when answered, never give out your information or say yes to anything.
This guy had the nerve to make up some bogus story about meeting my dad with his 3 legged dog "hopper" and then my dad, (an extremely private person) just gave him the home and his cell number and that he just "lost" his phone with all the numbers and needed to get ahold of him. What a load of [***].
No msg left on ans machine. Redialed and recorded male voice says "California Energy Solutions", then an auto msg says mailbox for this number is full.
Obvious violation of federal Do Not Call.
