I just received a phone call advising me that I am being sued and to contact a lawyer name Dexter Cruz within 2 hours . He requested my cell phone number which I refused to give. Told him I would call this "attorney" if I felt like it. I grew suspicious when I heard the heavy indian accent, if and he calls back I will tell him to ' suck rope'!
They are calling saying I am being sued for 3,000 for not paying a payday loan. When I asked them the information on this loan they couldnt give me any answeres and threated me by saying the police would come to my home and arrest me. They have my social, home address and are calling me at work also. The guy has a heavy indian accent.
Now they are Attorney Kevin Johnson and I asked why a divorce and custody attorney is calling me and they said the officers are coming to get you and hung up. I called back and said i am recording this call so please continue and he hung up
I just received a call from this number stating thtat they were a law firm of John Bass and that I had a loan from Cash Advance USA- I never took out this loan- when I asked for the number to call the company they hung up.
I got a call from on 8/8/12 by someone telling me that I will have legal charges against me and an atty. called Johnny Bass wants to talk to my atty. off-record and Peter Johnson (with a heavy Indian accent) mentioned the last 4 of my SS#. Itried to get a payday loan two weeks ago, and found many of the sites aren't actual lenders-but give your information out to other people. One man with a heavy Indian accent called three times in one day using three different co. names wanted me to send $150 as a voucher to repay the loan before I got the $.I asked him(on the first time he called) how can I send $ that I don't have to get $ I need. I knew it was a scam and hung up each time he called. If you seriously have to get a payday loan-look at the bottom of the screen to find out if the site is an actual lender.
If what happened to me happens to you-immediately inform FCC,FTC, your state's atty. general, and inform your bank and credit bureaus of a possible scam/fraud. It might also be a good idea to check out www.callcenter.com and www.spokeo.com to find out what state the call came from to inform that state's atty. general of the scam by that phone#. Youshould also changing accts. or banks to protect your $.
