I received a threatning call from this number today at 9:23 a.m. from a Mark Smith. I have reviewed the other comments and you are right there is absolutely no way that anyone with an accent like this is named such a generic name. Thank God that I am not the only person that this has happened to because to be honest it scared me. It would appear to me that there should be something that law enforcement could do with these people who harrass and terrorize people over the phone with this type of crap. They also told me some morbid ending with ominous words of dire consequences if they are ignored. With everything that is good about the internet some fools only have time to try to come up with get rich quick schemes like this. Maybe if I was a cow they would'nt talk to me this way. lol!!!
I recieved a call at work via my receptionist and they had left a message on the voicemail that was difficult to understand. Identified himself as Mark Smith (couldn't speak english) and left a number (310-359-0445) to call back, and ON THE VOICEMAIL said if I don't return the call than he wishes my laywer and I GOOD LUCK. So, I called him back and started freaking out, conviently, he couldnt hear me and i ended up on hold (hung up on). I am pretty sure that this is fraud because I have paid off any payday loans that I have recieved in the past and called with each company to verify that I had indeed paid it off. I will be filing a complaing with the Alaska DA, Cali DA, the FTC and the phone company e-mail you guys provided. I just am pretty sure that this is not for real...thanks for all the insight.
I got a call from these morons yesterday! So glad I found this site! At first it scared me then I thought you're crazy, I don't have any "payday loans". I asked them who the "loan" was with and they said EZ Cash USC. Whom I had never heard of. I checked and EZ Cash USC does have a website for payday loans, I haven't called them yet but plan to. If they are legit then they need to know what these scam artists are up to unless they already know........Thanks for all the information above. I'm off today maybe I'll call the scam artists over and over today sounds like fun. They even called not just my home phone but my cell too! Love the comment from anhi, when they called me on my cell wish I had been that quick!! lol
Would you believe I just spoke to Mike at EZ Cash USC and he told me they were doing it to all the payday loan companies. He also told me these idiots actually called HIM!!!! Of course he gave them a piece of his mind, I can't put here what he told them but use your imagination. I HOPE they call me again today, I WILL be ready for them this time.
these [***] called my work i told my gf to look up the area code she said its from cali so i started think why the hell would a law firm from cali call my boss at MY work! then finally got off work n called the number askin for john wilson he left for the day... i forget the name but it was a common american name and he sounded lik a indian accent n i been readin these stories wat you guys say bout them but the main ? is if they have our information should we be worried that they can take money from us or wat if we relle do get sumthin in the mail sayin we need to show up at court lik wat should we all do if they have this much information on us
