I keep getting the 44566 message, but when I try to reply I get "unable to send" message. There is no number to reply to, just 44566. I also sent STOP to 310-651-6366, and 316-665-7222. What do I do?
Add me to the list that is done with Free 411, getting this txts from 44566 - trying the STOP txt now. Praying it works - can't change my cell #. Who is going to sue these people for us?! Put me in on the class action.
Maybe it's time we attack the source. 800-free-411 They have a few locations, a customer support telephone number, fax line, and emails. I encourage you to tie up their lines during business hours.

Hi all, I work for 1-800-FREE411 and want to clear up these misunderstandings. It appears as though you accidentally opted-in to receive text messages from one of our advertisers – not 1-800-FREE411. As you know, 1-800-FREE411 is an ad supported free directory assistance company. When calling from a mobile phone you are likely hearing a prompt that says, “If you are calling from a mobile phone, press the star key now to receive a text message for more information.” If you do not press the star key you will not receive a text message. All search functions on our system are voice activated so if you do not press any keys you will not be connected with any of our advertisers.
For future reference, the Mobile Marketing Association’s standard opt out phrase to any text message is STOP. That should work for any unwanted text messages. - Laurie
WOW!These jerks were messaging me at 3 a.m. and all kinda innapropriate weird times! Even receiving ONE message wouldhave been OK, but this garbage went on without end. Every day!!!
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for the fix!!!! Replying "stop" to their message did the trick. And free411 oughta wise up the way their service and advertisers link together in a way that is really sneaky. Up til now, free 411 has gotten LOTS of bad word of mouth from me...and I teach and lead seminars, so many many people hear my opinions. - John
