First, "to receive a text message for more information" doesn't mean "You're opting in to a 'game' where you receive random messages you don't care about at all hours of the day." That is more than misleading. It's dishonest. Nice business practice. Trick people into your unwanted product. Second, I opted into nothing at all and you still spammed me.
1-800-FREE-411... never again. I did not hit any button on my phone when I used it, and I started getting the same ridiculous HipHopLite text messages everyday.
I am so glad I found this forum so that I could figure out how to stop it. Oh, I never did get the phone number I wanted because the voice recognition is terrible.
Just to clarify, 1-800-FREE411 is NOT sending you the text messages, the advertiser is. We follow the official guidelines set for the entire mobile advertising industry by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). Out of our ~20 MM calls a month you are one of only a handful of callers who have contacted us with similar feedback which we are taking seriously and providing to the advertiser. Thank you.
It doesn't help me if the company sending the messages is your client, not you. We're still getting them because we used Free411. It would be better for the rest of us to find a different service to use.
