I received a phone call from them and they were looking for marketing. I thought it odd that someone from CA would be calling us at 7am in the morning but I stayed on the line for as long as I could. I couldn't hear anything and the line would go dead from time to time. I have no idea what she was looking for. She seemed a bit upset with me after the first 3 minutes of me saying, "I'm sorry, but I cannot hear you." It was more than annoying. I'm curious to see if they call me back in an hour like they are claiming to do.
Our business got a call from them today. We have been getting dead air calls for months but this time a person was actually there. He said "Hi, I am just calling to get your street address and phone number, I already know the you are in XXX city and XXX state and I have your zip code" I responded "OK, may I ask who is calling?" He said Josh from Whitepaper Weekly". I told him to hold one moment, Googled the company name real quick, saw a few "Spam alerts" and just hung up the line. We get enough junk mail as it is. He has called back a couple times since, Caller ID here so I just hang up.
They have called my office twice asking for our IT manager. When they don't get a response, they call me back and try to get our mailing address. They seemed sketchy like a supply pirate or something, so I refused to give them our address and it offended the man I was speaking to. They second time they called, I asked what they were going to mail us. and when he couldn't give me a straight answer, I told him I was unable to give out our address because we've had issues with supply pirates. That seemed to rattle him a little, and it made me giggle to myself. :)
Called for our IT Manager. I asked him his name and business and he said, "It's Jones from Whitepaper Weekly". I asked him if he realized it was Black History Month and he didn't get my joke :-l *awkward silence*
LOL Jones! I just got a call from this number stating the name of someone who has never worked here before. I told the caller that he had the wrong number and then he asked for the IT manager. When I asked what this pertained to, he said something about updating Cisco records and I hung up. Caller ID just showed California Call.
