People can choose numbers from any state
Example: say a person lives in Ohio they can set up a California number with line 2
Go check out the app it'll have you select a state say California it'll have almost every city and you pick a city say Los Angeles and it'll say pick a number so setting up real fake numbers to prank people. You can set it up to have calls go straight to voicemail
Bill is correct. They call saying you are eligible for a $100 rebate card accepted at many retailers. They also say you will get a $25 Amex Gift Card and a $40 rebate gas card. They ask for your Credir Card info to charge a "one-time shipping fee". DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. If this deal sounds to good to be true...it probably isnt true!
I'm receiving calls from this number every 1-2 days. It appears to be autodialed and the system generally hangs up when I answer. Situations like this tend to be scams, as legitimate companies would not engage in this type of behavior. These unscrupulous companies could be operating from anywhere and even spoofing the caller ID, and therefore one cannot expect them to follow federal and state laws in the U.S.. The question is how to block such unwanted intrusions (like a spam filter for my phone)?
If they actually talked to me, I would try to waste as much of their time as possible at least once. But in this case it's just hanging up each time.
