don't believe it!!! I have been dealing with these type of companies for a couple of years now. I had a payday loan in 2006 which I paid off and they have said I was going to have a warrant issued, they were going to garnish my wages, they were going to serve me with papers and all of the other threats they seem to like to say....let's just say I have gotten my license renewed, gotten my car registered, have even been pulled over and given a warning from a DPS Trooper and guess what!!!??? No warrant is out...what they are doing is against the law. You need to know the consumer laws regarding your state when dealing with these morons...in Texas a debt collector can not garnish wages unless it is ordered by a judge, they can't put a lien on any of your property and they can't arrest you (there is no debtors prison). Oh and by the way, still waiting for the 48 hours to be over and be served at my place of business and I'm still waiting to be arrested (been at least three years)
They too called me about my son, and a payday loan from 2008. said I was a co-signer. False info asked them to fax me a copy of my signature they refused. Then asked if they wanted to talk to my brother who is an attorney. They refused. Asked if I had a joint account with son, never had. Threatened to have me arrested. Told them to bring it on. This is bogus. And there is no debtors jail in this country even if it was true.
I received a call from this number 312.278.7026 after recieving a message to call a Holly Mancini beign curious I called the number back and after asking what this call was in reference to I was put on hold and then some woman named Brenda Mack came onto the line very rude and demanded I make a payment and thjat legal action was pending.I told her that is fine and that I'm a licensed attorney in my home state and could she provide my office and me with verifiable documentation inn regards to a supposed payday loan from 2006 and this being 2012 that the statue of limitation had expired she refused and stated she would list it as refusal to cooperate please be careful with this group they are obtaining information and trying to con people into giving vital financial information out needless to say she hung up on me @Santoria you and I must have talked to the same scammer people be aware!!
Just had a call from 312-278-7076. Some investigator Barlow who starting yelling at me saying I had a bad check and what was I going to do about it over and over again. Very rude and unprofessional for someone who CLAIMS to be an investigator. First of all he had the wrong person and so I let him babble on and on wasting his time. I finally let him know I wasn't the one he was looking for and he rudely hung up. It seems they no longer check social security numbers or date of births. Something learned in Investigations 101. I called back to get the address of the company. Another Investigator asked why I called back and I said to get the address of their company ( you would think a legit company would give it) and he wouldn't give it to me then abruptly hung up. Something fishy with this outfit. Beware. Don't let them get your goat, get theirs. Ask questions.
GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER LADY SAID TO CALL BACK IMMEDIATELY SAID HER NAME WAS CASSANDRA BROWN REGARDING A SUMMONS THEN BEFORE THE END OF THE CALL SHE HAD A DIFFERENT NAME !!
Do NOT provide these people with ANY information. I just returned the call and gave them the number to my lawyer. The slap in the face is they are calling my parents home, my job, my ex husband and my phone. Leaving messages saying "...this is regarding a "charges" against you." My entire family has been thinking that I've done something criminal. (which as a federal employee I have no reason to do anything out of line EVER).That -ish is not cool. Have them contact a lawyer or tell them you will call the police and report. Hope everyone else is able to stop the calls
