don't believe it!!! I have been dealing with these type of companies for a couple of years now. I had a payday loan in 2006 which I paid off and they have said I was going to have a warrant issued, they were going to garnish my wages, they were going to serve me with papers and all of the other threats they seem to like to say....let's just say I have gotten my license renewed, gotten my car registered, have even been pulled over and given a warning from a DPS Trooper and guess what!!!??? No warrant is out...what they are doing is against the law. You need to know the consumer laws regarding your state when dealing with these morons...in Texas a debt collector can not garnish wages unless it is ordered by a judge, they can't put a lien on any of your property and they can't arrest you (there is no debtors prison). Oh and by the way, still waiting for the 48 hours to be over and be served at my place of business and I'm still waiting to be arrested (been at least three years)
Wellll rootin' tootin I jus about had me a dun heart attack when I seen me who was on the phone! Well golly gee gosh it was jus about enough to scare me outta my trousers! They were askin' me to pay my gursh durn credit card bills! But I ain't got me one of them ole credit curds. I don't take no stock in them gursh durn things. Well I says to him, I says "now you lersten hur you sappy young devil! You leave me be or I'll jus about have to wack ya'z!" He started jabberin' on about some sapenis or somethin' or other, till I just couldn't take it no more! I took my ole' iPhone 4G and dumped it right in my spitoon. I had to go out and buy me a new one, cause I sure do like me that ole' duck shootin' application. But anyways, they ain't nurvur called me on back again. I think I gave em' a good enough talkin' to, I dun scared em' ole rascals away. But woo ee! That sure was some frightful business.
I got this call today I got very scared what do I do they have my address and well they want payment or they will arrest me in 48 hours ?????? Help someone tell me what to do to make them stop
IGNORE THEM!!!
It's a scam, block the number.
No one "REAL" calls you and tells you they will be there in 48 hours to arrest you and take you into custody.
Now get some sleep.....
Got the same call from Scott Chamberline w/a case number and phone number 312-278-7076...SCAM...don't give them any information. They will try to tell you that you owe money on fraudulent loans and debts anything that has to do with a debt...Please go to your state attorney generals website and file a compliant. This will make them more aware of the scam and investigation may begin. Don't give them ANY information at all no matter what they tell you, they'll use scare tactics and try to take money...if you are worried call your relative let them know if they are trying to reach them using their name to bait and hook potential victims. Regardless never give your personal information over the phone, if anyone ever calls requesting your information (account numbers, social security numbers, family member personal information anything like that) then it's a scam.
