don't believe it!!! I have been dealing with these type of companies for a couple of years now. I had a payday loan in 2006 which I paid off and they have said I was going to have a warrant issued, they were going to garnish my wages, they were going to serve me with papers and all of the other threats they seem to like to say....let's just say I have gotten my license renewed, gotten my car registered, have even been pulled over and given a warning from a DPS Trooper and guess what!!!??? No warrant is out...what they are doing is against the law. You need to know the consumer laws regarding your state when dealing with these morons...in Texas a debt collector can not garnish wages unless it is ordered by a judge, they can't put a lien on any of your property and they can't arrest you (there is no debtors prison). Oh and by the way, still waiting for the 48 hours to be over and be served at my place of business and I'm still waiting to be arrested (been at least three years)
Just got a call from this number. A guy asked for somebody I've never heard of. When I said he's got the wrong number, he asked if I was some other person.
Yeah, just got a call from some clown at this number. He tried to say something about how he was associated with law enforcement. He then went on to say that charges were pending against me in some county I've never heard of. It was in regards to a check cashed at a check cashing/payday loan place. Besides the fact that this was discharged in my Bankruptcy, the guy is lying and breaking the law in several ways. I dare you to call me back.
Some lady called alleging to be an 'Investigator' looking for a person who has my last name. I suggested she and her game sounded like a scam, and she went away rather easily, although she said something about a subpoena for the person she was looking for ...
Lady claiming that I apparently know some Dana Woods and there was a fraudulent check case pending against her and that I needed to call back if I had any information. I know no one by that name and have never had an issue with bad checks.
Yeah, same thing happened to me. Scared the hell out of me til i realized that something wasn't right. A guy named Mike Daniels and some lady named Anna tried saying i had taken out a payday loan for $700 in 2006. I kept asking questions, and then as soon as i asked what company they're with and who they were, they got very defensive and wouldn't answer the questions. The lady was SO RUDE! to say the least. She hung up on me, then the guy called back and tried playing the "good cop". He then too hung up on me when i started asking for their credentials. It's a scam for sure. Don't believe it.
