I have been getting these calls regularly. Today I asked again to remove my number and do not call again. I was told he would not remove my number and he would call again. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told "no" I would talk to him first. As I was hanging up he muttered something about $34.00 a call. There must be a way to stop these calls. It will not be answered again. Caller ID was Brill Street L
The DNC isn't a call blocker and can not protect you from the illegal callers, extortion scammers, foreign country's and frauds. Criminals do not obey laws simply said. They use spoofed numbers which make it hard to track them down.. it takes time to do this and many subpoenas for call records.
Caller had a very strong Indian accent. Said his name was Steve Martin and that he was calling from Windows. He said that my computer was being hacked and asked if i had a computer. I asked him if he was Steve Martin the comedian. I continue with the charade until he asked me to sit in front of the computer and describe the key layout. I got him so frustrated playing Mickey the dunce that he finally uttered a profanity and hung up the phone.
Call came in at 7:58 am. Caller ID listed as: Brill Street L. Call went to my fax and is now blocked. And I agree that there should be a Call Type for Scammer and thieves.
