I get calls from this number and ignore them.
Have entered the name "DO NOT ANSWER!" in my cellphone, which takes calls switched from my home phone.
Another tactic when I am called from a solicitor.
I play the role of stalker and ask, "What are you wearing?"
If they describe innocuous outer clothing, "No. I meant what are you wearing under that?"
One woman told me I couldn't talk to her like that but I reminded her that she had called ME.
Just act real friendly and swarmy and see if you can get under their skin.
The "no brainer" answer is, DO NOT press any number when asked to. Pressing 1 or 9 can do several things, depends on your phone system and what they are trying to do. They can have a system set-up to capture your line and then long distance calls will be made on your line. They could also redirect the call to a high cost toll call line, like the old Psychic Hot Lines used that can charge your account $20.00 or whatever rate it is set to charge.
I got this call, but I always let any number I don't recognize go to my voice mail. They didn't leave a message so I figured it was a junk call of some kind. I then blocked the number so they can't call me again. I'm getting quite an extensive list of blocked numbers ...
They called and left no message. Caller ID said unknown name which sends up a red flag anyway.Someone earlier said not to press any number they tell you, it can put you on a long distant line, that is true, I heard of this happening. I just finsihed making a complaint on another low life who keeps calling and I can't understand why when you tell them after 10 or more calls not to call anymore and they still do. No brains I guess. I wish the FCC would fine them $100,000 a call and a little jail time wouldn't hurt either, maybe we all can get a break from these creepy idiots.
