This is a legit call/phone # -- it is from the social security office. They called me and I did not answer it. They followed up with an email and then I called them after I got the email.
I received letter from State od Michigan regarding ...my debt with information about it what I must paid immediatelly because investigation will be created against me. I had this letter 3 times.(every year) I sent a note with explanation.
In last days I received a letter with request my debt and after somebady call to me. I call for him but he do not give me answer. But I give for him some [***] words.In last year this man call to me and give me information what IRS keep money for me 2,500 $ because I paid total tax before 15 and it is prize for me. I check up in IRS and officer mailed to me information about fraud. Also I [***] up this gay by phone.
Is it intersting to me how he find information about by correspondence with IRS Michigan and how he find information about my payment to IRS some thousands dollars by check ?
312-575-6999 belongs to a large Social Security Administration (SSA) center in central Chicago, and they do make outgoing calls from varied depts within that building that show this same outgoing number. Callers from this number should be legitimate employees of SSA, but if you are wary about providing any personal info via phone ask that SSA contact you via mail.
THE CALLER SAID THAT I HAD BEEN OVERPAID ON MY DISABILITY, I TOLD HER, I'VE NEVER BEEN DISABLED IN MY LIFE, SHE SAID I OWED $60,128.95, I WAS SO UPSET THEN SHE TRIED TO TELL ME THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY SET UP A PAYMENT PLAN, I TOLD HER NO I DID NOT, THEN SHE PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME THE ACTUAL NUMBER TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IN MY AREA, WHO TOLD ME I DID NOT OWE A DIME. IT'S REAL STUPID SCAM IF YOU ASK ME, THEY NEED TO STEP THEY GAME UP!
