Got a call from this number requesting that I call them back. They didn't say why, but I expected it was for this scam. Last week the police left a post on Nextdoor (a social media site for communities across the country) that the IRS calls are a scam. I already figured it out. But it was nice to see the police acknowledge it. Blocked the call.
Call came from 312-878-0278;recorded message stating that a lawsuit was being filed against me from the IRS. this really upsets me because I have an elderly parent that is not in good health, and I MUST leave my phone on at all times. This call came in at 6AM PST, Monday morning. From other posts about this number, they've reported talking to someone with Indian or Pakistani accent. I've been hounded by these people for months now from different spoofed numbers from Florida, Illinois, minnesota, Idaho, tennesee, Iowa, and Washington. It's always the same guy with the Indian accent. I'm so sick of these guys, they buy a block of numbers and somehow trick your cell ph into thinking the call is coming from a certain origin, and it's all BS. I've been called up to 6 times a day. Giving the police the numbers won't help because they are "spoofed numbers" anyway. A reverse lookup might even be a legitimate cell number from any ordinary person! I see no way out but to get my number changed. I see no other way at this point.
