The number maps out to a number on the South side of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.
If this caller is a Wells Fargo imposter, then one can contact the FBI's Chicago Division office to possibly press charges against the caller. fbi.gov/chicago
Do Not Even Answer This Call ! This call is not orignating from Chicago but from a rogue caller in Panama... They pretend to be from Wells Fargo but they want to get personal info from you so for peace of mind just block the # if you can since we all don't need to deal with these "Crook".
Update to my earlier message. I have been receiving numerous calls from "Wells Fargo", "Purchsh W. Fargo" and "Purchsh Wells F". Caller ID identifies them but the phone numbers vary. After my initial call that I answered (you can see my response above) I stopped answering the phone when these calls came in. These calls all came in between 8 and 9 pm my time...so very late if it were an east coast call.
I have called Wells Fargo Bank, the department that I talked with is turning this over to the Fraud Department. I gave them all the phone numbers that I had received.
If anyone else reads this...call Wells Fargo Bank and report it. They need to know how serious this is. In checking this site for the other phone numbers...they look much like this one, everyone is getting the same run around or hangups.
Got a call today. When I called back, the recording said it was a membership service. But my phone number is on the DNC list, so they aren't bothering to check before calling.
Called at just about 9pm on a school night, I'm sick, and asking for my husband who is out if town for the funeral of a fellow soldier who just recently passed away.
I was even polite and asked what the call was all about since he is traveling and we are Wells Fargo customers. I realized it was telemarketer since he refused to leave a message.
