THIS IS A SCAM. Scammers are using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.
The FBI warns about payday loan extortion scams here http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"
Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.
I got a call from "John Taylor" from this number- What a bunch of losers. I was trying to keep him on the phone for a long time so he would have less people to call. I did make a complaint with the FTC but I doublt anything can be done. I know I don't owe any money at all but how dare they try to scam.
Something needs to be done about these people! They are stealing peoples identities. They know my social and even my NV license number(which fortunately is no good anymore). Isn't this against the law? What good is an alert from BBB? They need to be stopped!
I have been getting threating calls from PCS under numbers such as 10, unknown, 916-395-0000, and 315-385-9901. They threatened me with jail time and court over $410. They have sworn at me twice trying to work things out them and they have also sworn at my co-workers trying to get a hold of me. They don't speak perfect English and also the man that speaks to me is named John Taylor. When you ask to speak to a manager you get the same guy trying to use a different voice.
These people only care about one thing, MONEY. They will yell at the person they are harassing and use threats to scare them. Be careful.
