At 6:54PM on 9/15/2011 I too got a call from 317-215-5321 with the poor quality female voice telling me my CHASE Credit card had been stolen. This is a landline based in Indianapolis, IN. I called the Osceola County, Florida Sheriff's Department and reported it.
My wife and I got calls from this number almost simultaneously. Our cell #'s are just one digit apart. I got the caller id of 317-215-5321 but the call was cut off when I answered. My wife got the same call claiming to be from wells fargo and that our debit cards had been locked. We don't bank with wells fargo. A quick check of our credit reports online show no accounts with Wells either past or present.
I also got a call the other day asking for my debit card account number because my account was locked. But i was in the middle of doing something so I just hung up and figured I'd get to it later. Turns out my debit card is fine and nothing ever happened to it. Good thing I didn't give them any information.
Getting this call at least once a day for the past week now. Crappy digital voice message saying it was Wells Fargo and that my debit card was locked and to press 1 to unlock. My Wells Fargo account has been closed for 6 years now so I knew this was a SCAM. DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS in the voice mail!!! BLOCK THIS NUMBER from your phone!
