Consistently get a blind - dial "Unknown Name" with 321-304-9999 as the id.
Pressing any button seems to put me in a queue to talk to someone, but never seems to go thru.
I'm on the do not call list, which would be enforced by the government, excepting that the entire bureau has been gutted by the last administration. Not to worry though... when I find the location...
People the deal is no matter how many times you report this to the FTC or your state AG office, nothing can or will be done. These are criminals who use "spoofing" numbers to call you. They are computer generated and they can put whatever they want there and cannot be traced.
The only thing you can do is hit the prompt to speak to a human and act interested. Tell them you currently have about $5000 in credit card debt on one or two cards. They will ask and you tell them you are up to date on payments always paying at least the minimum. Then when they ask tell them your current interest rate is 18.99%.
At this point you will be told they have to verify your identity and they will ask you for your credit card number. Tell them no problem but you'll have to go upstairs to get it. Make them wait for 2 or 3 minutes (and they will wait for you). Then what I do is simple state "I'm sorry but I don't deal with [***]' or I mention that Rachel is a C*unt or anything to that effect. Waste their time as they've wasted yours.
If you ask any questions like what company are you, they simply hang up on you and will call again in the next cycle. No way to stop it so have some fun with it.
Got another call today. same scam message of lowering credit cards. First clue it's a scam is the message dosent name a card? Second clue this is about the 15th message left warning this is my last chance to lower my rate on an unknown card. Must be really nice people to give me about 15 last chances. RIGHT. Call showed up this time as Florida.
Got a call and they ID shows 1-321-304-9999 a robo-call claiming to be some sort of credit card services.
I pressed one to speak to someone and asked them to Identify themselves. They said we represent Visa, Matercard and Discover Cards. I said do not call this number again.
They replied verifying my number and stated, "We will be calling everyday at 3, 9 and 11" and hung up.
this weird id comes up, and no one leaves message, ever. But when they begin calling my number, it's for weeks and weeks, then stops, then again...GRRR
