Same as above - career stated they were from Windows and had received error report from my computer about malware...he was foreign and said his name was Steve...when asked for a number for me to call back he gave me 321-396-5210....I told him I do not do these things over the phone and he said that's was why he gave me his number so I could call back and see he was "real"...he stated that if I signed on to computer he could tell me my computer number..can't remember what he called it! Definite scam!!
Got the same type call, guy asks me to get to my computer and login, stated virus's may have been downloaded over the last couple days which may cause my computer to crash, and said he would help me fix it. I told him this sounds strange to me, and I have never received a call like this. I asked is name, he said Mark (yet had a heavy Indian accent) gave me the call back # 321-396-5210. I asked to speak w/ supervisor, he trans the call, again an Indian accent, stating the same exact thing. His name was John Paul, lol. yet he gave me a totally diff call back number 412-431-4586. I told him I have good virus protection software and have no current issues, and hung up. be aware!!!
I just had the same type of call from a man who siad his name was Alex William, but like above clearly had a accent, I advised him that I would not giving him any information and that I would like to talk to a supervisor or managert, another man got on the phone (again with a heavy accent) and identified himself as Mark. I know this is a scam but what bother me his he was able to give me my address. The call came in as unavailable on Caller ID which tells me the # was blocked. I asked to speak to someone that could speak english and another gentlemen got on the phone, again with a heavy accent. I asked for the name of his company and he stated that the company name was Windows Help and Support Department, I said I did not ask for your department I asked the name of your company and he repeated the above.
