Automated dialer with recorded message from Jessica at a VERY vague "Card Services", offering to lower credit card interest rates. Connected to live agent, requested name of company, agent mumbled "Accelerated..." and would not clarify when asked.
RED FLAG: A company that refuses to identify itself, this is most assuredly a credit card scam. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU. If you receive a call claiming to be your credit card company, ask for an employee name/number and then call the number that is on the back of your card and verify.
Telling this morons to remove you from their database/call list etc... will be pointless. Scammers don't care about the law, so they won't follow it.
Also, NEVER EVER register for a "Do-Not-Call List". They only stick your info out there for people just like these. Your name is on a list. This list is accessible by companies. Bad companies/scammers use these lists as CALL LISTS.
Being a skeptic has saved me from many attempted scams. Proceed with caution.
The same recorded massage like Dave's form 25 Sep 2009 but live operator was very rude and when I asked him to be taken off from their caller list and what is the company name he said that the name is "Hung up " and what he did.
i GOT THE VERY SAME MESSAGE...ONLY THEY HAVE CALLED REPEATEDLY ( ABOUT 10 TIMES) AND NEVER LEFT A VOICE MAIL............I TOO HAVE CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND IT SAYS THAT IT IS DISCONNECTED...........WHAT THE HECK................
Same thing - they've been calling me here in Canada (call display says 321-735-9690 Florida) for several days in a row. I hung up the first couple times on the recorded message regarding my "last chance to change my credit card rate" (I don't have a credit card), but when it kept happening, I waited to try to talk to someone, when the message said "to talk to an operator press 1", I did so, and when I told them to remove our phone number, she said really, really fast "I'm-sorry-can't-help-you-press-option-three" and hung up! I was ticked off. So, today - it just happened again, so I waited and pressed "3", and after a long silence and a series of clicks, I got a dial tone. I'm about ready to blow a gasket!
talked to a rep and they wanted my mc card 16 diget number to varify the payment where up to date to lower the interest rate I told them no because I didn't know who they where and they hung up on me I phoned the police and reported the phone number they will deal with it pisses me off because I'm on the do not call regestry
