Automated dialer with recorded message from Jessica at a VERY vague "Card Services", offering to lower credit card interest rates. Connected to live agent, requested name of company, agent mumbled "Accelerated..." and would not clarify when asked.
RED FLAG: A company that refuses to identify itself, this is most assuredly a credit card scam. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU. If you receive a call claiming to be your credit card company, ask for an employee name/number and then call the number that is on the back of your card and verify.
Telling this morons to remove you from their database/call list etc... will be pointless. Scammers don't care about the law, so they won't follow it.
Also, NEVER EVER register for a "Do-Not-Call List". They only stick your info out there for people just like these. Your name is on a list. This list is accessible by companies. Bad companies/scammers use these lists as CALL LISTS.
Being a skeptic has saved me from many attempted scams. Proceed with caution.
They phone us several times a week. I never answer it because we don't know anyone in Florida (we live in Canada). When I searched the number on the internet I found a lot of people have the same problem with this number. What a bunch of [***], why don't they get real jobs like the rest of us.
They phoned serval times a day. I answered and finally got a person who when they said hello this is .... how can I help you, I proceeded to blow a horn in thier ear and hang up. Never got another call! (It's one of those horns that u would use at ball game.)
Telus has done nothing for me - just wasted my time. These f*ckers from 321-735-9690 keep calling me 4-5 times a week (Victoria, BC).
I suggest we all contact the Sheriff's Office in Brevard County Florida and get them to stop these harassing phone calls. I spoke with Police Services in Cocoa, Florida and they said to contact the county police services and my local police services. You can reach them at:
321-264-5100 (Brevard County Sheriff's Dept.)
The more people who call them and complain about this, the greater the chance of this stopping. When I called up Cocoa Police Services, the lady on the line said they have received a bunch of calls from Canada about this. She told me to contact the county police services and local police services, so I have posted that number for all of you to call.
After speaking with the Brevard Co. Police services, they explained to me that there is nothing they can do on there end (please feel free to contact them though :) ) and that I need to first contact my local police. From there, local police services will contact the Brevard Co. Police, if there is a case.
You can also contact the mayor of Cocoa, Florida at:
Mayor Michael C. Blake. 65 Stone Street Cocoa, FL 32922 • Ph: (321) 433-8683 Fax: (321) 433-8455 • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm • Monday - Friday.
This is NOT A TELEMARKETER. Based on the CRTC regulations, telemarketers (by law) MUST IDENTIFY WHO THEY ARE AND THE COMPANY THEY REPRESENT. They also MUST IDENTIFY THE COMPANY/NUMBER/and THEIR NAME, WHEN REQUESTED TO DO SO (and not hang up on you). If they don't do this, then they are, by definition, not a telemarketer. Don't let your telephone company try to tell you otherwise or sell you additional services.
Oh, and here's the Cocoa, Florida Police Services number (Just in case you want to call them too - although they can't do anything, they can still keep hearing about it..after all, I have to keep hearing from a number in their area code..):
Cocoa Police Department
www.cocoapolice.com
1226 W King St
Cocoa, FL 32922-8620, United States
(321) 639-7620
