I had the same message today, and said his name was James Howard (maybe his brother lol) anyway, he said I was going to be arrested today. I told him the call was being traced and he will be arrested soon hahaha...Bunch of scum.
Also received the same call from (323) 238-3879 said she was from the treasury and wanted the name of my attorney? I asked why? She said I was in a lot of legal trouble for not paying taxes. I told her the treasury department would not be calling me and my taxes were paid. She insisted that I ignored their letters and was going to be arrested. I said a few foul words and suggested they go right ahead and arrest me. She hung up, imagine that.
Got the exact same message today from "Sean Adams," thick Indian accent and obviously calling from a call center. Yeah, I'll have my attorney call you right back, pal.
Received same call today as described by others. Knew it was a scam and tried to keep them on the line as long as I could to waste their time. They know your phone number as well as your address and your spouse's name. Once they figured I was on to them, they proceeded to use profanity toward me. Oh well.
Same as everyone else.
"This message is intended for [my name]. Yeah [me] this is Matt Peterson with the Department of legal affairs of the US Treasury and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal notification for [me] in regards to some law enforcement action that has been started on your name. My number is 323-238-3879. I repeat that 323-238-3879. If for any reason you are busy to call back. I will suggest you to have your retained attorney to do it for you. Delay in calling us might end up in a legal mess for you. I hope you will take this right and call me right back. This is Matt Peterson with the Department of legal affairs.Looking forward to speak to you until then. You have a blessed day and goodbye."
Sorry, "Matt", I'm not buying it.
Got call from this number 3 times today, especially interesting that they changed who they were a couple of times, first he was calling from the US treasury department and then he was with legal affairs, my husband needed to call him back and then it was his senior officer. The end of the phone call was interesting, I've never heard a "government agent" say "may you be blessed, God bless".
