Just got a call from this number. Caller ID says ATT. Caller said his name is Eric, has a heavy accent. He had the address, claimed he has my SS #, but that for security reasons, couldn't state it, then asked for my birthday, which I refused to give. I know, for a fact, that AT&T never asked for birthday or SS# when I got my phone, though he claimed that's how he knew them, but in Nov. and Dec. I had scheduled service to get U-Verse and WiFi installed, which didn't work out because they had disconnected my phone before they were to arrive, causing me to be unable to let them into my building.
He said that they, AT&T, wanted to upgrade my service to U-Verse, and that I'd need a new modem, to access U-Verse and WiFi and that it would be free. That was what really made me take notice, because AT&T was going to charge $190.00 for that upgrade, and the disconnection of my phone that morning, just two days after being discharged from a 4 month hospitalization, leaving me unable to let the nurses into the building, or contact my family, causing great panic, was the reason I cancelled that work.

I've gotten calls from AT&T Svc Center before, but the area code was usually Texas or Illinois.  This time the ID said ATT, but the area code was local.

Called last night around 9pm.  I hung up on them.

I could pick up and ask them to hold, but I just don't want to be bothered even with that.  I've asked AT&T not to call me before, and it has been way longer than 30 days since I made that request.  I've asked Time Warner Cable not to call me, and they still do.

I hate all big companies like this.  And I get so many unwanted calls, when the phone rings, I'm thinking "Another unwanted call, I know."  If I got this many calls from employers, I would have had a stupid job long time ago.  These calls always come when I'm home, (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and after 8pm) so I can usually hang up on them.

If I want to talk to AT&T, I'll call THEM.  Llike some above posters, I don't pick up unknown or unwanted calls.  I hang up on robocalls too, though they are still tying up your line until the recording finishes.

Whether it's really AT&T or a scam, I don't want to talk to them either way.

I see from some posters the number isn't valid when calling.  My opinion is that legit companies or phone calls will display a working, valid phone number.  Numbers out of service or disconnected sounds fishy to me.  They don't want you to know where the call is really coming from.

It's true that "ATT" makes people think "AT&T".

This number calls our house at least once a day every day.  Caller ID shows ATT.  They never leave a message and we don't answer the phone.  If we need anything fro0m ATT we will call them so they might as well quit calling as we will not answer the phone and they are just wasting their time.

This number has been calling daily, sometimes twice a day and as late as 11 at night, for weeks now. We hardly ever answer but when we did we asked to be put on the DNC list. After requesting this several times and still receiving regular calls from them I called the number myself and used the automated system to request to not be called anymore. It said it could take up to 30 business days which is bullsh*t, if you ask me. If they don't stop calling I will probably call the REAL AT&T and have the numbers blocked. It's such an annoyance.

Like others, I have received many calls more or less daily from 323-250-0528.  Another today. BUT this is the first time I was able to talk to someone long enough to establish with some confidence that this is in fact AT&T telemarketing. I did not accept any offers as a result of this call, but before she hung up she said I should call 800-288-2020 to verify this call is legitimate. I decided to find out what is going on and called the 2020 number.  It rings in to an automated system which is actually an AT&T number.  I fought the robot for 10 or 15 minutes until it gave up and connected me to a human.  I was able to establish that this is in fact telemarketing by AT&T to promote their U-VERSE service.  I asked to get my number removed from this marketing program.  This got me switched to the NUISANCE call center.  Another robot to fight with, and finally a recorded message which explained how to register with the do-not-call list.  Then GOODBYE, followed by a hang up.  So, I have concluded that this is NOT fraud, but it IS very aggressive telemarketing, which the do-not-call list should have eliminated.  Very discouraging, as I am stuck with AT&T for phone service so I can get the DSL internet connection.  I would like to dump AT&T.
